Thanks to its ESG practices, Grupo Financiero Banorte remains among the top 10 companies by market capitalization on the FTSE4Good Emerging Index, FTSE4Good Emerging Latin America Index, and FTSE4Good BIVA Index.

FTSE Russell, a global analysis and stock index company, has confirmed Grupo Financiero Banorte, led by chairman Carlos Hank González, as one of the companies with the highest capitalization on the FTSE4Good Index Series.

Banorte’s leadership in environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) initiatives has earned it international recognition.

We reaffirm our commitment to implementing the best environmental, social, and governance practices in line with international standards! Our purpose is to provide the greatest value to all our stakeholders,” stated Carlos Hank González, Chairman of Banorte.

The FTSE4Good indices, created by FTSE Russell, are designed to measure the performance of companies that demonstrate strong environmental, social, and governance practices. The FTSE4Good indices are used by a wide range of market participants to create and assess responsible investment funds and other products.

The recognition of Banorte reflects the bank’s continuous improvement plan and its significant level of transparency, which has increased since Carlos Hank González took on the role of Chariman in 2015.

Sustainability is at the core of Banorte’s growth strategy and global impact. In April 2021, Banorte became a founding signatory of the Net Zero Banking Alliance, which consists of a global group of banks aiming to promote the transition to a low-carbon economy and combat climate change.
